A short country trip by bike in the Eifel

Take a short break - preferably with friends. Cycle through the countryside for a day, along the river and let your bike roll along the old railroad line - the cycle tour on the Ahr cycle path and Kalkeifel cycle path is decelerating and relaxing. Enjoyable cycling in the Eifel is the motto of this cycle tour. From the source of the Ahr in Blankenheim, the cycle tour initially runs to Ahrdorf on the Ahr cycle path. The route is perfect for leisurely cycling, as the old railroad tracks have hardly any inclines.
The region around the Kalkeifel Cycle Path is characterized by lime mining. Cyclists ride along winding forest paths through the Ahrbach valley across the watershed between the Ahr and Moselle catchment areas. At the Dreimühlen waterfall, you can take a short breather before reaching Hillesheim. The route continues to Oberbettingen-Hillesheim, from where cyclists can take the train back to Blankenheim-Wald.

Tip: The small Landcafé Kerpen serves home-baked cakes and coffee from the Daun coffee roastery. At the end of the tour, Café Sherlock in Hillesheim beckons with its criminal delicacies.
