The start and finish of the circular route is the parking lot behind the Fabry department store in Adenau on Wimbachstraße

From here, the route leads across the historic market square, through Kollengasse, to the Stations of the Cross, which are now over 150 years old. Past the 14 stations, up to the Grotto of the Holy Sepulchre. Shortly after the grotto, turn left up a short climb to a higher path, which curves around the Winsendell to the right and leads to the Schwallenberg. There you have your first beautiful view over Adenau and Wimbach as far as Kottenborn. From here, it is only a short, easy walk over the Schwallenberg down to the Näsbach hiking parking lot. Continue down Näsbachstraße to the "Gemütliche Ecke" restaurant. Cross the main road there and continue past the Adenauer Bach stream to the "Aldi" supermarket, where you reach the B 257 again and after a few meters you arrive in Breidscheid at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Follow the race track uphill to Wehrseifen, a well-known spectator area on the Nordschleife. Continue to the small Wehrseifen tunnel, which takes you under the race track. Here you have a great view over Adenau to Reifferscheid. Then it's down to Eckernbaum, up via Kallenbachstraße, past the school center and back down via a short forest path to the path above the former swimming pool. The path leads between the tennis court and the Eifel stadium in the direction of Wimbach. At the BSC shooting range, turn right, cross Wimbachstraße and climb steeply up into the forest on the left before the power station. After a short climb, the route curves back towards Adenau. Via a beautiful, leisurely ascending forest path, which after a short time leads into an open meadow area, you reach the old sports field on the Hirzenstein, which is now used as a riding arena. From up here you again have a great view over Adenau as far as the Hohe Acht. Passing the new building area of the Oberer Hirzenstein, the route now leads down Wimbachstraße to the center of Adenau, or to the starting point parking lot.
